Warren County Clerk of the Circuit Court

Expungement

Getting your record expunged or sealed can be a confusing and lengthy process. This is especially true if you, like most people, are going it alone in court without an attorney. Doing the legwork before filing your paperwork in court will reduce your chances of errors and frustration. The first step to an expungement is to decide whether or not you qualify. Not everyone is eligible to have their case expunged. The State Appellate Defender has provided on instruction guide on the website. To help assist you in this process I have added the website of Office of the State Appellate Defender. Check the website at http://illinois.gov.oasd.

Once you have all of your paperwork gathered bring those forms into us and we will process the paperwork for you. The fee of $60.00 is required at the time you file your forms. If your expungement is approved at the court hearing an additional fee of $60.00 is due made payable to the Illinois State Police. This fee can be made payable by check or money order made out to the Illinois State Police.
